I love baking anything chocolate and I love baking with orange. These flavours, both individually and together are my absolute favourite! This recipe combines both these flavours beautifully and make some delicious brownies that are 100% gluten free and refined sugar free!
This is one of the most delicious brownies I have ever made and the recipe is quite simple too! It makes a really moist brownie with an amazing flavour of chocolate and background note and flavour of orange.
We are not going to use any artificial or store bout orange flavour here. We are going to make our own orange sauce which will flavour the brownie. You can make double the amount I have mentioned here if you would like to top your brownies with some of that gorgeous orange sauce like I did. So, let's get started!
150g - dark chocolate 1 cup - almonds 1/2 cup - ragi flour 1/2 cup - coconut flour 1/2 cup - jaggery powder 1/4 cup - cocoa butter or regular butter 1/2 cup - cream
2 - Eggs Zest and juice of 1 orange cooked with 5 tsp of jaggery Pinch of salt
Add the whole almonds together with ragi flour into a blender and grind it to form a fine powder. Mix coconut flour and salt with this powder.
For the wet mix, melt the chocolate with the butter in a double boiler or in microwave.
Once the melted chocolate has cooled slightly, add the cooked orange syrup and jaggery powder into the melted chocolate mix and whisk to combine.
While adding the eggs, whisk one egg at a time to this mixture. Add the next egg once the first is combined well. Add in the cream and whisk.
Add the dry ingredients into the wet mix and mix well to form the batter.
Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes.
I like serving these brownies slightly warm with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. This combination of hot and cold is a treat for the taste buds. You can drizzle some of the gorgeous orange sauce on top like I did or enjoy the brownies as is. These taste fantastic either ways.
